Mattie Mills is one of San Diego's shining lights and one of this city's most respected women. She has been singing in the popular band, The Heroes, for 19 years and has done countless charity events, giving her time and talent to help this community in many ways. More importantly she's the mother of 4 children. On Mother's Day of this year, she found a lump in her right breast. Since then she's had 3 surgeries including a double mastectomy and on August 16th started 4 months of aggressive chemotherapy.

This cancer is a huge shock that has deeply affected our families and friends. Every day more and more women (and men) we know are being stricken with this terrible curse so it's time to fight back. Heroes' bandleader Tom Boyd and Eve Selis both hit upon the idea of a fundraiser for Mattie separately, as Mattie would never in a million years ask for help like this, but this is something that she certainly needs and deserves.

Thanks to Viejas Entertainment and all the bands that are donating their time on 10/15, 100% of proceeds from this concert and the silent auction will be donated! First, donations will be made to the Mattie Mills Fund, to fund the Mills family through Mattie's chemotherapy treatments. After that donation, the remaining monies will be donated to the San Diego chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
